AB OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the impact on nurses population of such a
training course in parallel with projects on counselling. THE MATERIAL:
From September 1993, The A.N.F.H has been conducting a five days seminar
for 154 health care nurses. It was spread out over three months. The
seminar provides an integrative approach covering such disciplines as
counselling clinical care, education and psychosocial theories. METHODS
OF EVALUATION: Classical as well as experimental as regards commitment
in behavior, techniques and activities used and personal objectives.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: The a priori evaluation revolved around the
condition of the training. The behaviour and the perception of AIDS,
cultural representations of sexuality and death, their exposure to the
risks. After an evaluation on analysis of each module and on their
personal objectives 73%. A final evaluation concerned the techniques
used during the courses and the processes used six months later.
RECOMMENDATIONS: It shows the necessity of a better integration of the
H.I.V perception and representation in the health care workers
population. The interventions are designed to reduce the stress of the
health care workers more affected than other workers of health system.
